I never wanted KF to fail. What kept me somewhat hopeful was Glen Mason's comments after the 1999 Minnesota game. Something to the effect that the foundation Kirk is laying produces winning teams and that he doesn't look forward to playing the Hawks with KF at the helm. Like him or not, Mason has an idea of what goes into building a successful team. His words ringed of substance to me.

As I stated before, it's refreshing to see a nice guy succeed in a seemingly low key manner.

And I'll admit this: I WANT Alford to succeed and prove us wrong. I'll be pulling for the Hawks in EVERY game.
