Posts: 11385 Sep 20 09 8:24 AM On Iowa!	I seem to recall a couple of fourth down tries in the last two years that completely failed, 21. Missing a try like that can truely change momentum. I think the FG was the call. No reason to get Arizona excited at that point in the game. Even with a great D, momentum (and a broken play) can change everything. I guess there are times that being conservative is not all bad.

You say that just because our defense was good and their offense struggling, we needed to go for it on 4th. However, for the very fact that our defense was good and their offense struggling, getting up by a touchdown nearly puts them away. You assume they won't score a touchdown AND get another score at that point. If they score two FGs, we're STILL up. Ferentz made the right call.
